WHAT DO I NEED TO BECOME AN EDUCATOR?
You are a person of good character and
•Interested in operating your own business from home
•Can provide a warm, secure and family-focused environment for children
•Willing to provide an environment that complies with Departmental and Service safety requirements
•Demonstrates adequate knowledge, understanding and experience with children (ages 0 to 12 years) and are capable of meeting their needs
•You are in good health
•Have or willing to obtain current First Aid Certificate, Asthma Emergency, Anaphylaxis Management
•Have or are willing to obtain a minimum Certificate III in Children's Services by 2014
•You (and any persons over the age of 18 living in your home)are willing to undergo a National Criminal History Check and/or Working With Children Check
•Are 18 years or over
•Have Public Liability Insurance

Our educators operate their Family Day Care business in their own home with the support of Coordination Unit staff. Educators program and plan for children to support them to learn, grow and discover in a safe and secure environment.
The Family Day Care business model offers educators the opportunity to work from home, on the days and times that suit you and your family.
